Rupture & Repair
This was one of the most useful concepts when I was being trained as a therapist. We talked about how to even address ruptures with our clients in session if we sensed a sudden withdrawal or discomfort in our clients. However, this became most central in my work with couples--and I really love Gottman's Repair Checklist and other frameworks for repair.
Recently, I've been following an instagram account: @accountabilitymapping and really been sitting with their wonderful material on accountability, generative conflict, rupture and repair work. Life. Changing. Check out their stuff here: https://www.instagram.com/accountabilitymapping/ and they have a course should you be interested: https://linktr.ee/Accountabilitymapping
As I was researching more about the rupture repair process, I came across this lovely gem and blogpost:
Andrew Grimmer, a CBT counseling psychologist in Bristol UK, wrote an amazing post about rupture and repair. It's well worth the read.
Hopefully you got as much as I did from Accountability Mapping & Andrew Grimmer's materials. Have a good day!
